How to Fix OCLP Stuck While Flashing a USB Installer

If OCLP freezes while writing a Sequoia installer, suspect the USB drive, disk format, or a stalled download.

Step-by-Step Fix:

  1. Wait once: Some stages pause for 20-30 minutes on old Macs; do not interrupt immediately.
  2. Erase the USB: In Disk Utility, erase as GUID Partition Map with Mac OS Extended or APFS.
  3. Use another port or drive: Cheap USB drives often fail under large installer writes.
  4. Download again: Remove the partial installer and let OCLP fetch macOS Sequoia again.
  5. Create from Terminal if needed: Use Apple's createinstallmedia, then install OpenCore to the USB EFI with OCLP.
