How to Fix How to totally get rid of Clover

Boot failures are most commonly caused by firmware settings, incorrect OpenCore configuration, or USB mapping problems.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Boot verbose: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to see where the boot process stops.
  2. Check firmware: Disable Secure Boot, Fast Boot, and CFG Lock; set SATA to AHCI; enable UEFI mode.
  3. Validate OpenCore: Run ocvalidate or ProperTree clean snapshot to catch config errors.
  4. Recreate installer: Use a fresh USB drive and try a different USB port.

Verification

  • Verbose boot passes the previous stopping point.
  • The installer sees the target disk.
  • Keyboard and mouse work during recovery.

Original Question: "How to totally get rid of Clover??"

Hi and help!!

I have just upgraded my pc and decided it was time to switch over from Clover to OC and have a crack at installing Big Sur beta. Success with the install but when I went to copy over the OC folder to my EFI, I noticed that the old Clover folder was there. I deleted it but upon reboot, I was presented with clover still and no OC. Any help would be appreciated as I don't know what to do from here and I'd rather not reinstall again.

Thanks!
