How to Fix Someone... Please... I need Help

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
  2. Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
  3. Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

I have spent over 40 hours trying to get this to work. Please someone smarter than me tell me what's wrong.

- Installing Big Sur

-Xeon X5650

-Chinese x58 MOBO

-Nvidia GTX 650Ti

I can get to the install screen fine, format my drive and start the install. It will run through the install, but after the the first reboot and I select the new macOS bit on the OC booter, it will run some more verbose script, then the apple logo again (appearing like it's installing), but then turns off. I thought it was just installing fine but needed help rebooting manually, but it is definitely in a loop as it cuts out at the same place every time and I've rebooted it 10+ times.
