Ghost kext?

Hi all,

I've been prepping for my OC 0.6.3 → 0.6.9 upgrade along with mapping USB ports for 11.3 which I've yet to install, but I'm running into some issue that I probably just keep Googling wrong so can't find a solution for.

So, I've done the USB mapping and I want to try it out, but removing USBInjectAll.kext from the EFI/OC/Kexts folder and removing the proper entry in my config.plist just prevents me from booting. I end up with the following error:

OC: Image Kexts\USBMap.kext\Contents\MacOS\USBMap is missing for injected kext USBMap.kext ()

Except, of course it's missing. It's not there. I removed it, same for its reference in my config.plist.

I'm doing these tests on a separate USB drive's EFI while I keep OC 0.6.3 on the Hack's drive.

Anyone run into this before?

I've seen some people suggesting running ProperTree's OC snapshot, but ProperTree just straight out refuses to run on my install, both running the .command file and the compiled app. Checking the plist with OCcompare gives me nothing out of the ordinary.

It's the first breaking issue I've had with this Hack that's been running for a little over a year and even upgraded real smooth to Big Sur from Catalina, so I'm a bit perplex.

Thanks!
