How to Fix HP EliteDesk G4 BigSur stuck at apfs_module_start:2435 + USBs get disabled

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

All the details here + EFI and screen grab.

  • HP Elite Desk G4
  • i5 6500
  • HD 530
  • 16GB RAM
  • CX20632
  • I219-lm
  • Intel 8265
  • SATA SSD MODEL : MTFDDAK256TBN 1AR1ZABHA

Whenever I try to boot Opencore / Clover my USB devices get shut down (my kb / mouse LEDs get disabled) i suspect it is the same for the USB key I'm booting from, thus halting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

(please don't tell me to search for the other threads cause nothing worked)
