I had a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 TH with an i7 7700k and an RX-570 Pulse 8GB running Mojave just fine. I broke the golden rule and changed more than one thing at once. I had made a Catalina install USB but decided to fix up Mojave and try the direct upgrade. I upgraded Clover from 49xx to 5141. I used hackentool to add the latest lula, whatevergreen, and appleALC.
