How to Install El Capitan on a 2006 Mac mini 2,1

A 2006 Mac mini upgraded to 2,1 can run newer classic OS X builds, but it is outside normal OCLP workflows.

Step-by-Step Check:

  1. Confirm firmware: Verify System Profiler reports Macmini2,1 and that the RAM is recognised.
  2. Use a compatible installer: Create the El Capitan USB from a Mac that can run Apple's installer tool.
  3. Check partitioning: Erase the USB as GUID Partition Map, not MBR.
  4. Try another USB drive: Old Macs are picky with USB boot media.
  5. Use legacy patchers: If Apple's installer refuses, use a known El Capitan legacy patcher rather than modern OCLP.

Original Question: "Mac mini 2006"

Mac mini 2006

This is a upgraded 2006 mac mini so it has a intel core 2 duo and 4gb of ddr2 ram so i know it's not really about opencore but it's similar to this and i don't know where else to post.... so i already got it upgraded to macos lion but i want el capitan on it and i heard its possible yes i have also already upgraded the efi to a mac mini 2,1 so it should technically work but no.... i have used two videos with a guid but with no luck as it recognises the usb but will never load it and i don't know why? Any other tools i can use other than "osx-patcher". Thank you for any help.
