If your 2010 MacBook Pro is stuck on the Apple logo with "less than a minute remaining" for over an hour during macOS Ventura installation, this is a common issue caused by legacy SATA controllers or incomplete EFI booting. Follow these steps to resolve the boot hang:
1. Force a Reboot via OpenCore EFI
During the final stage of installation, the installer writes boot caches and reboots. Sometimes it hangs trying to load the default Apple bootloader instead of the OpenCore bootloader:
- Hold the Power button on your Mac to force a shutdown.
- Turn on your Mac and immediately hold down the Option (Alt) key.
- In the boot picker, select the yellow EFI Boot disk. This loads OpenCore.
- In the OpenCore menu, select macOS Installer or Macintosh HD (do not select the USB installer). If the install was almost complete, this will resume and finish the boot process safely.
2. Check System Integrity Protection (SIP) & Secure Boot Settings
The 2010 MacBook Pro uses old non-metal graphics cards. If OCLP created the USB installer with strict Secure Boot settings, the installer will hang trying to boot the kernel without root patches:

 | I’ve tried to install Ventura on my MBP 2010, I did get past the installing Ventura, aproxamitaly XX minutes remaining, then there was an apple logo and a progress bar, and now it has been on less than a minute remaining for more than an hour.
