Two finger right click? MacBook5,2 w/ '08mbp trackpad

I have a MacBook 5,2 running macOS 12 via OCLP. Usually two finger right click does not work on this model and the stock trackpad is treated as a usb pointing device.

I pulled and installed a 2008 multitouch macbook pro trackpad into the palmrest, very fun 1:1 install, just a lot of glue.

All the gestures work, launchpad, mission control, etc., but no two finger right click... Played around with it in settings – no luck. I wonder...

  • Do the 2008 pre-unibody macbook pro's have two finger right click? IIRC my old gpu-fixed one did on dosdude1's 10.15 patcher (should've never sold it, had to mention it).

  • Could it be as easy as a kext or similar from that model mac?

I mention the '08 15" mbp having two finger right click because the macbook5,2 hasn't had two finger right click since macOS 10.14/10.15 iirc, definitely since oclp macOS 11. In MacOS 10.12-10.13/10.14* You used to be able to pull the 5,2 trackpad prefpane from a stock MacOS 10.11 install and you'd have two finger right click after opening it in settings on each reboot. Even with an automating script it was a bit janky, but super nice compared to ctrl+click in certain situations, such as remote desktop.

Now that I remote into my windows desktop, it'd be very nice. Messing with powertool keyboard shortcuts would make it where either my desktop or the macbook remote would be awkward to use, and it feels like a fix is really really easy. I'll keep playing with it, but someone else definitely knows more/where to best start.
