How to Fix SUCCESS Mac OS Big Sur

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
  2. Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
  3. Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

As my first attempt at building a Hackintosh, I have managed to get it working.

Its made from the parts of my old PC which I turned into a HTPC, but after some interest I decided to have a go at building a Hackintosh.

Specs:

- CPU - i5 3570k- RAM - 16GB DDR3 ar 1600MHz

- GPU - HD400- MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H

Managed to get everything working after some effort and patience (audio was the worst but got it working thanks to people here).

I used the OpenCore install method to get it all working with the EFI etc..

I want to add a GPU at some point but I will wait until they can actually be bought for normal prices.
