Understanding GPU Limits in Modern Hackintosh
If your GPU is only supported up to macOS Monterey, moving to Ventura, Sonoma, or Sequoia is extremely difficult and usually results in a poor experience.
Why You Should Stay on Monterey:
- Metal Support: Newer macOS versions (Ventura+) have completely removed the drivers for non-Metal and early Metal 1 GPUs. Without these drivers, you will have no graphics acceleration (laggy UI, no transparency).
- OCLP Workarounds: While OCLP provides root patches for real Macs, applying these to a Hackintosh is much more complex and often breaks system stability.
- Recommendation: If you want a newer OS, your best option is to upgrade your hardware to a natively supported AMD GPU (like an RX 580 or RX 6600).

Hey guys I’m new to hsckintosh. I just installed macOS Monterey along side my windows. In OP simplify it said that my gpu is supported up to montery, so I installed Monterey. Im asking is there any option to get newer versions of macOS on my pc?
